LONGEST SEQUENCE OF VICTORIES

S. Thomas' Won four consecutive matches from 1882 to 1885 and once again from 1904 to 1907.


MATCH OVER IN ONE DAY

In 1906 the Royalists were cheaply bundled out for 71 runs due to a fiery spell of hostile bowling by Thomian Skipper L.H. Amdt who picked up a wicket haul of 8 for 38. The Thomians replied with a quick 100 runs. In the 2nd Innings continuing his great form with the ball skipper L.H. Amdt captured 6 wickets for just 17 runs shooting the Royalists out for a mere 34 runs. The Thomians, needing just 6 runs to win, achieved the feat in just one ball, resulting in a 10 wicket emphatic victory for the Thomians making it the quickest win for the Thomians.


MOST DECISIVE VICTORY FOR S. THOMAS'

In 1988 in the 1st Innings Royal managed to make only 95 runs. The Thomians replied with a classy 254 for 7 with three Thomian batsmen N. Adikaram (51), A. Gunawardena (54) and N. Femando (64) going on to score half centuries. In the 2nd Innings the Royalists were bowled out for just 87 runs due to an excellent spell of bowling by L. Egalahewa who captured 5 wickets for just 24 runs, resulting in an impressive innings and 72 runs victory, making it the biggest margin of victory for the Thomians.

In 1924, Thomians beat Royal by 23 runs, 5 minutes before close of play.
